Anne has conducted third party assessments and surveillance audits to ISO 9001, SANS 10330, BRC, ISO 22000 and Mark Schemes which included SANS 1657- and SABS 449 requirements within South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and Zambia over a period of thirteen years,

    Anne has gained over thirty years experience in microbiology as technologist and later as laboratory manager. Duties included the compilation of business plans, forecasts, budget planning, market research, marketing and managing the general running of laboratories.

    Food and water samples were tested according to validated, internationally recognized test methods as well as pharmaceutical products according to USP and BP test methods.

    Implemented ISO 17025 management systems within two laboratories situated in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and also assisted with the implementation of ISO 17025 within a microbiology laboratory at Walvis Bay, Namibia. Research was also conducted on the purification of effluent / waste water to potable water standards. The focus was mainly on the virology aspects of the untreated and treated water.

    Madelyn Johnstone-Robertson


    Madelyn received her BSc Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Cape Town and is currently completing her PhD at the University of Cape Town in the Centre for Bioprocess Engineering Research (CeBER). Her research focuses on the production and downstream recovery of the enzyme glucose oxidase from fungal sources such as Aspergillus niger NRRL-3 and Penicillium sp. CBS 120262.

    While completing her PhD, she tutored and lectured Chemical Engineering and Bioprocess Engineering courses as well as running practicals for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

    She also gained commercial experience on enzyme production from animal and plant sources whilst working for an internationally recognized enzyme producing company,

    As a market researcher in the Chemical, Manufacturing and Food division of an international Market Research Company, focusing in the biofuel, mining and petrochemical industries.
